Kohl's 2008 Winter Wonderland

On December 7, Kohl's hosted a glorious holiday event at the corporate headquarters for over 4,000 Associates and family members. Saz's Catering assisted in planning and implementing service of food and beverages throughout the entire Kohl's Headquarters campus.

With three separate locations on opposite ends of the Koh'ls property it was necessary to stage and staff three separate food and entertainment "event" areas.

Set-up began early in the week placing huge clearspan tents, generators, flooring and heating units. Kitchen equipment, consisting of stoves, ovens, deep fryers, grills, prep tables and much more, needed to be placed in two separate outdoor kitchen tents. Once on-line, each clearspan tent was heated to a toasty 65 degrees creating great comfort to families and kids. Not to mention the toes of our kitchen and prep staff. Countless man hours were spent braving the cold and snow to insure proper placement of all needed equipment and supplies to feed over 4000 guests.

With a staff of over 100, Saz's Catering produced thousands of smiles and filled the bellies of happy children and adults alike on this snowy, cold December day at Kohl's .

Saz's Catering Creates Disaster Relief Division

Responding to the needs of the Utility Repair Crews, and in conjunction with Milwaukee's Karl's Event Rental company, Saz's Catering entered the crippled after-math of Hurricane Ike and set up camp in weather torn Woodville, Texas.

In an open field, an encampment of sleeping quarters, showers and foodservice tents was assembled on very short notice. These sturdy facilities, provided by Karl's, were temporarily built to house 500 utility workers from around the country. This tent city, one of three such encampments, would provide the basics in creature comforts with our crew preparing three quality, daily meals. For up to 30 days, a nutritious breakfast lunch and dinner would be needed.

Water, electricity, housing, communications, santitation and foodservice facilities had to be erected in just days prior to the workers arrival. Once in place these dedicated workers would embark on daily projects to reconnect essential power lines and equipment lost to the ravages of the hurricane.

The challenge to secure supplies, infrastucture, housing, communications and kitchen facilities is enormouse and Saz's Catering staff made the committment to forgo all the comforts of home family, friends and daily workplace routines to bring relief to those with a greater need.

Working long, 12 to 18 hour days in some of the worst conditions, Saz's Catering became a vital part of the community of relief workers.

It is our committment now, and in the future, to provide contract assistance to those who need it the most. Please call (414) 256-8765 for more information.

Feeding over 17,000 people at one party - WOW!

All groups of the Wheation Fransican Hospital Group gathered again at the Summerfest Grounds to celebrate their annual employee picnic. Saz's Catering assisted in planning all aspects of this huge undertaking. To put this into perspective, the entire city popoulation of Middleton, Wisconsin is 17,000 people. Saz's fed the entire group with ease.

Music and entertainment filled the summerfest grounds from the Miller Oasis north to the Rock Stage. Children's games, adult games, bingo and casino games keep all in attendance occupied throughout the day. This year the temperature was perfect as the last couple years had heat in the high 90's on the grounds. We all faded quickley without 1000's of gallons of water.

Inflatables kept all the kids busy having fun. From rock climbing to a merry-go-round planning for an eventfull day took many people and manhours to accomplish.

Saz's Recreates the 1954 Dinner in the Miller Brewery Caves for the Museum of Beer & Brewing -

The December 17, 1954 luncheon meeting of the Wisconsin State Brewers Association held at "The Caves" of the Miller Brewery. Chairs were borrowed from the Gettleman Brewery Rathskellar, because Miller's new Rathskellar was not completely finished. Seated at the table on the left were: Fred Effinger, President of Effinger Brwery of Baraboo Wisconsin, Rudy Zimmerman, Vice-President of Pabst, Sol Abrams, Vice-President of Schlitz, Fred Miller, President of Miller, and King Cole, President of Kingsbury Brewery, Sheboygan Wisconsin. Tom Gettleman is seated opposit of Fred Miller. This is the last picture taken of Fred Miller before his fatal plane crash later that afternoon. After the tragedy "The Caves" was not used as a party room and was made into a museum.

In what has become the Museum of Beer and Brewing's most beloved annual events, Saz's Catering has recreated the dinner setting down to the candelabra's and checkered table cloths used at the original dinner pictured above. The June 9th dinner began with a selection of Miller Beer served in the Miller Inn Stein Room of the Miller Brewing Company. Hors d'oeuvres were passed to begin the evening of history and dining.

The group then proceeded in to the "The Caves" for a sit down dinner of Prime Rib, Chicken Marsala and Grilled Salmon followed by Apple Pie A la Mode dessert. Because of limited room in "The Caves" the guest list is held to an intimate group of 58 people each each year.

Miller Brewing Company Tree Lighting Ceremony
Miller Valley

2006 & 2007

Keeping active with our friends down the street at the Miller Brewing Company, Saz's Catering helped bring in the holidays with the annual tree lighting in Miller Valley. Our staff set up food stations in the old Miller Inn and in the building that was formally the stables of the old brewery. Preparations were made to make sure 2000 employees and family had a nice warm dinner on a cold December evening of fun. Saz's Mozzarella Marinara and Saz's BBQ Pork - Hot Apple Cider and Sweet Hot Chocolate were among the many foods prepared to help warm the bellies of all the mom's pop's and children of Miller Brewing Company.

When Lexus of Brookfield wanted to introduce the new LS, Saz’s Catering assisted in making this a premier event. As clients and guests arrived to a red carpet valet service, Saz’s staff greeted guests with champagne and hand-passed hors d’oeuvres.  With a stationed presentation of fresh shrimp, crab claws, hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, espresso bar and lavish Lexus ice sculpture, Saz’s wowed all who attended and helped make this important event a resounding success.

Saz's Catering - What Can You Think of Next?

Saz's Catering demonstrates another area of service expertise for Miller Brewing Company.

In a personal send-off message for the holidays, Chief Marketing Officer, Tom Long, pours the final bottle of Miller High Life into a "Champagne Fountain" - Miller Style.

Over 80 glasses were painstakingly stacked one on top of the other to create a waterfall of the "Champagne of Beers" .

Over 100 employees gathered in the Corporate Pub to enjoy bountiful hors d'oeuvres presented by Saz's Catering and to cheer on the final pour from Tom Long. Ooo's and ahh's rang from the crowd as the Champagne of Beers cascaded down the tower of glasses.
